In today’s digital landscape, building a professional identity is no longer limited to academic achievements or formal qualifications. Instead, it is shaped by how individuals position themselves, communicate their value, and maintain visibility in the digital space. As an English Literature student, I choose to pursue a career as a digital media curator focusing on the indie music scene. This decision reflects both my academic background and my personal interest, allowing me to connect literary analysis with contemporary digital culture.
My interest in indie music goes beyond casual listening. Through attending gigs and observing independent artists, I have come to understand that music is not only about sound, but also about storytelling, identity, and cultural expression. In this context, my background in English Literature becomes relevant, as it allows me to interpret music as a form of text that carries meaning. I see an opportunity to translate this meaning into digital content that is both engaging and insightful. In the next three to five years, my goal is to build a sustainable digital media platform that focuses on indie music, where I can consistently produce content, collaborate with artists, and develop a strong professional presence.
